Ms. Violet John earned her Bachelor of Arts degree at the University of North Dakota in Grand Forks. Ms. John began her teaching career by doing volunteer work for the San Francisco School Volunteers. In 1970 she received her California Teaching Credential at San Francisco State University. Her Master of Arts degree specializing in Learning Handicapped students was completed at San Jose State University in 1993. In June 1997 she received her SADIE Certificate of Completion accredited by the University of California. Ms. John was declared NCLB compliant by HOUSSE in Social Science in April, 2007. Ms. John has been a Pioneer Faculty member working in Special Education since 1989.

For the past 20 years Ms. John has been practicing Tai Chi Chuan on a daily basis early in the morning before she leaves for Pioneer.
