My name is Katy Furth and I have been teaching at Pioneer since 2003. I teach Spanish 1-2 and 3-4 and truly love what I do! I moved to California from Washington State and graduated from the University of Washington with a degree in Spanish. I love to travel (espcecially to Spanish speaking countries, imagine that) and so far have had the opportunity to live in Spain, Costa Rica, and have spent some time in Argentina and Urugay. My goal is to teach a "Spanish" that can be applied to all ends of the globe, as well as here in San Jose where our influnece is primarily a Latin American Dialect. I also Coach Water Polo and Diving here at Pioneer so if I'm not in my classroom, you can ususally find me by the side off a pool somewhere!
